About Unity Medical Foundation

UMF was set up to address the problem of visual loss and blindness in Pakistan. As of 2017, in Pakistan approximately 9 million people were blind or had significant visual impairment.

Pakistan is rated the fourth among the South Asian countries where visual problems are a significant medical problem. Compared with 1990 there is been 55% increase in blindness and visual impairment and this disease burden will continue to increase.

At UMF we have linked up with a team of ophthalmic surgeons who provide vision saving surgery to the poor in Pakistan.
The surgical team travel to villages and areas where there is a demand for their services and provide assessment clinics and surgery to patients.

We desperately need your help to assist us with delivering eye operations and food packages to the poor and needy in Pakistan.

Each operation costs only £45 which will provide the gift of sight to those affected.

In 2019 we did over 300 surgeries in Pakistan and the aim is to add to this amount
